Using a virtual tour to experience Purdue

Jordan Harris is one of a growing number of students who are starting college having used a virtual tour to make their decision. And not only does she believe it can be done confidently; she’s found that Purdue’s Virtual Experience actually offered some unique benefits for exploring a Big Ten school.

“The virtual campus tour lets you see literally all of campus, which is near impossible when walking around. It helped me feel like I was getting to know my way around, so when I actually arrived, I recognized landmarks,” she says.

And she found that the ability to go back to the tour at any time of day or night was more meaningful than expected.

“I wasn’t limited when trying to remember things from the jumble of campuses around the country. If I wanted to remember what something looked like, I could revisit it,” she says.

And ultimately, it was reassuring to see that Boilermaker spirit came through loud and clear.

“I saw a team that would help guide me, and I saw that help would always be there if I asked for it,” she says. “Boilermakers are committed to excellence in all life’s aspects, and that is what made me comfortable committing to Purdue in the first place.”
